Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
The short version
- We do not show ads to children, allow child chat, or collect data for behavioral advertising.
- Right now, all of your child's progress (stars, badges, nickname, avatar) is stored only on your own device. Nothing about your child is sent to our servers.
- We never ask a child to enter more information than necessary to play, and every external link, purchase, or setting lives behind a parent-only gate.
- You can review or delete everything about your child's profile at any time from the in-app Parent Dashboard.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Fan2See Productions ("Fan2See," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the NyxintheMix mobile application (the "App") and the nyxinthemix marketing website located at this domain (the "Site"), together the "Service." It applies to parents, guardians, teachers, and the children who use the Service under their supervision.
NyxintheMix is designed for children roughly ages 1 through 3rd grade, used together with a parent, guardian, or other trusted adult. By using the Service on behalf of a child, you represent that you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or another adult authorized to consent on the child's behalf.
2. Information we collect
From grown-ups
The App does not currently require creating an account. If you use the in-app Parent Dashboard, you may optionally enter a device passcode-style math check (not personal information) to reach settings, reports, and external links. If a future Family Membership requires an account (see Section 7 of our Terms of Use), we will describe exactly what we collect at that time before you create one.
About your child
We collect only what is needed to run the learning experience on your device:
- A nickname or made-up name you or your child choose (no last name or real identity is requested).
- An avatar sticker your child selects from a fixed set of emoji.
- An age band (for example, "3 to 5 years") used only to recommend a learning world.
- In-app progress: stars, badges, Sound Seeds, stickers, mission completion counts, time spent per activity, and a mistake count used only to gently pace difficulty. None of this is shared publicly or with other users.
Automatically collected technical information
Our hosting and font providers automatically receive standard technical data common to any website or app visit, such as IP address, device or browser type, and request timestamps. We use this only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, never to build a profile of your child or to serve ads. See Third-party services below.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect a child's email address, phone number, full name, or photograph.
- We do not collect precise geolocation.
- We do not allow children to type free-text messages, chat with other users, or share content publicly.
- We do not collect audio recordings. A future "listen and sing along" microphone feature, if ever added, would process audio on-device only and would never leave the device without a separate, clearly disclosed update to this policy and new parental consent.
- We do not collect payment information from children. Nothing in the child-facing experience is purchasable.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Run the learning activities and remember your child's progress between sessions.
- Show parents an accurate summary of what their child has practiced, in the Parent Dashboard.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
We do not use information for behavioral advertising, cross-app or cross-site tracking, building advertising profiles, or selling or renting data to third parties. We have no advertising network integrated into the App or Site.
5. How information is stored
Today, all child profile data and progress is stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage (AsyncStorage in the App). It is not uploaded to, or stored on, any Fan2See server or any third-party cloud service. Uninstalling the App or clearing your device's app data permanently deletes it.
We are building an optional, Phase 2 "Family Account" feature that would let a parent sync progress across devices through a secured backend (Supabase) with Row Level Security, so that only the parent who created a family can access that family's data. That feature is not active today. When it launches, this policy will be updated first, and it will remain true that a child profile under a Family Account is nickname-and-avatar only, never an email, photo, or precise location.
6. Third-party services
- Google Fonts. The Site loads the Fredoka and Quicksand typefaces from Google's font servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Loading a font this way can share your device's IP address and browser information with Google, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use Google Fonts inside the App itself.
- Hosting. The Site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server and network logs needed to deliver web pages to your browser.
- Stripe and Printful (merch orders only). If you purchase merchandise through our Shop, you will complete payment on a page hosted directly by Stripe, which processes your payment and shipping details; we never see or store your card number. We share the shipping address and order details necessary to fulfill your order with Printful, our print-on-demand fulfillment partner, so they can print and ship it to you. This information belongs to the purchasing grown-up, not to any child profile, and is never linked to a child's in-app data.
- Outside of the Shop checkout described above, we do not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, social media plugins, or third-party tracking pixels on the Site or in the App.
Direct Notice 7. Children's Privacy Notice (COPPA)
NyxintheMix is directed, in part, to children under 13, and we are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). This section is our direct notice to parents about what information we collect from children, how we use it, and how you can exercise your rights.
What we collect from children, and why it's necessary
As described in Section 2, we ask for only a nickname, an avatar sticker, and an age band, and we automatically record in-app progress. Each of these is limited to what is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in the learning activity; we never condition a child's ability to play on providing more information than that.
Your rights as a parent or guardian
You have the right at any time to:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
- Request that we delete your child's personal information.
- Refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information, and have their profile removed.
Because your child's information is stored only on your device today, you can exercise all of these rights immediately and directly: open the Parent Dashboard in the App to see everything stored for your child, and use "Delete all data" to erase it instantly. You may also contact us at privacy@fan2seeproductions.com with any question about your child's information, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
What we never do with children's information
- We do not use it for behavioral or targeted advertising.
- We do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- We do not permit third-party plug-ins to collect personal information from children through the Service.
- We do not enable public profiles, public chat, or public sharing of anything a child creates.
If our practices ever change so that information about a child would be collected, stored, or transmitted off of your device, we will update this notice, provide renewed direct notice to parents, and obtain verifiable parental consent before that collection begins, as required by COPPA.
8. Your choices and rights
In addition to the children's-privacy rights above, if you are an adult user in a jurisdiction with its own privacy law (for example, a U.S. state comprehensive privacy law), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you as a parent or guardian, and to opt out of any future marketing communications. Because we collect very limited information from grown-ups today, most of these rights can be satisfied simply by contacting us at the email address below.
9. Data retention and deletion
Local, on-device data persists until you delete it through the Parent Dashboard, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. We do not separately retain copies of your child's profile or progress.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited, local-only data described in this policy. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. App stores and platforms
If you download the App through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or another platform, that platform may separately collect information under its own privacy policy (for example, purchase or download history), which is outside of our control. Please review the relevant platform's privacy policy as well.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and if a change materially affects how we handle children's information, we will provide renewed direct notice to parents and, where required, obtain new verifiable parental consent before the change takes effect.
